I'd have to say that one of my favorite songs would have to be Tim McGraw's "Live like you were dying." Every time I listen to it, I get chills down my back. To me it is a lot more than just a song. It has a very good story to it and shows a real life experience. Often times I hear the phrase "live like you are dying," but after I heard this song it put a new meaning to this phrase. I never thought about it that hard until I heard this song for the first time. It tells about his father who was diagnosed with cancer and did all of these things that he never thought about doing before. I guess one could say that he lived like he was dying!
The meaning of this song is pretty clear cut and dry. He retales the story of his dad's last few months that he was alive. After he found out that he had cancer, it acted as an eye opener to him and he goes on to tell about all the things he did that he would have never imagined doing before this point in his life. He tells how he went sky diving, rocky mountain climbing, and even road a bull. He sarted to do things that are very daring and could also be considered dangerous but what did he have to lose? "He said I was finally the husband most the time I wasn't, and I became a friend a friend would like to have." This illustrates how he changed his way of living and how he became a better person.
If you haven't ever heard this song I would strongly recommend you to listen to it. Sit down, listen, and analyze what he says in this song. We are all going to die one day. Maybe we should all loosen up a bit and learn to live life to the fullest. Start enjoying life a little more and be thankful for what we have. Start living like we are dying!
