Obama's Inaguration Speech

So if today wasn't cool enough with the snow I thought watching the Obama's speech just made my day that much cooler. I've never really been interested in politics too much. I mean of course I care who is going to run the country and things like that but before the previous election I never really took time out of my day to watch any speeches or any shows dealing with politics. I think that Obama being half African American makes it alot more interesting. It's like I said earlier today that watching this was basically watching a very important part of America's history. Generations after us will be studying this in their history classes. It is comparable to Martin Luther King Jr. and how we studied him in history. I just think it is something neat and interesting to watch(as some people my age probably don't).

As far as the evaluation of his speech, I think it was well said. Obama is an excellent speaker and I thoroughly enjoy listening/watching any speeches given by him. Not only does he speak well but I also agree with most of his political views and what he plans to change about America. A lot of people say "well he has too much stuff on his list of things to do and are waiting to see what he will be able to accomplish." As he stated today this is going to be a long process. We aren't going to wake up one morning and the economy be back to normal all of a sudden. This is a new era and we are just making a start on a new beginning.

I like Obama as my president and I am anxious to see the new and brighter future that he is going to get us started on. I am still kind of bothered by some people and how they view Obama as our president. Don't get me wrong, I am happy for all African Americans and this event which hopefully makes the nonbelievers believe that all humans are created equal no matter what race, gender, or religion they might be. I just feel that some African Americans are making it a race thing. After the speech I happened to check my facebook and noticed that one person had as their status "MY PRESIDENT IS BLACK." To me it is not about what color the president is, it's just a matter of whether he is going to be a great leader or not.

With all that said, I am looking forward to the future with Barrack Obama as my president and leader of this great country that I live in.
